Loretta Preston is originally from Birmingham and has been working part time as a nurse practitioner at Cahaba Medical Care’s Ensley clinic since 2017. She also works part time as an adjunct clinical instructor for Samford University’s Family Nurse Practitioner program and as an RN in UAB’s Mother Baby Unit. She received her associate degree in nursing from Jeff State, then went on to obtain her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from UAB. Loretta has spent her entire nursing career in women’s health working in a variety of settings including primary care clinics, labor and delivery, and hospital nursery. She is retired from the UAB Department of Maternal-Fetal Medicine in 2009 after serving 25 years as a RN and CRNP. Her previous experience also includes 12 years at Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, as well as working as a travel nurse, a flexi RN at Henderson and Walton Women’s Center, and an adjunct clinical instructor for UAB School of Nursing. She is married with two children, a granddaughter named Sophia and a 16-year-old Pomeranian named Bear. She and her husband are also expecting boy/girl twin grandchildren, Amber and Ryder, in early 2019. When she’s not working, Loretta enjoys traveling and going places with friends and family, finding bargains and flowers, making jewelry for special occasions, and Alabama football.

Claire Ahalt, CRNP - Nurse Practitioner

Claire Ahalt was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She moved to Tuscaloosa in 2010 to attend the University of Alabama for her BSN degree, where she was also a varsity member of the cross country and track and field teams. After three years working in hematology/ oncology, she received her MSN-FNP from Samford University and joined Cahaba Medical Care in 2018. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors and traveling to new places with her husband, Justin, and their coonhound, Patton.

Kinsey is originally from Mt. Vernon, Ohio. She attended undergrad at Auburn University where she received a bachelor of science in nursing, then went on to obtain her master of science in nursing at UAB. Prior to joining Cahaba, she worked for four years as a nurse for UAB in the Heart and Lung Transplant ICU. She currently lives in downtown Birmingham with her husband, Joey, and their dog, Finn. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, gardening, exercising, reading and journaling.

Stancey grew up in Fort Worth, Texas but moved to Birmingham in 2013 to attend undergrad at Samford University, where she completed her BSN. After graduating from Samford in 2017, she went on to work at UAB Labor and Delivery/MEU where she was an RN for three years. During this time, she earned her MSN degree from UAB. She is excited to work for an organization that prioritizes access to healthcare for all patients and looks forward to serving and learning in this new environment. In her free time, Stancey enjoys running, cooking, thinking about getting a dog, and watching SNL reruns.

Sarah is a registered nurse originally from Nashville, Tennessee. She is a graduate of Auburn University where she received a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Prior to joining Cahaba in December of 2018, she worked as a RN in Labor and Delivery for eight years in Memphis, Tennessee. Her role at Cahaba is to coordinate and facilitate the Centering Pregnancy groups at the Ensley Clinic, as well as OB quality and coordination. She is the proud wife of Dr. Adam Ross, and together they have three young boys who keep them very busy. As a family, they love to be outside hiking, biking, kayaking or playing at parks.

Sarah Catherine Sorrell, MS, RD, LD - Dietitian / Nutritionist

Sarah Catherine Sorrell, MS, RD, LD - Dietitian / Nutritionist

Sarah Catherine joined Cahaba Medical Care in June of 2019. She completed her undergraduate degree, as well as her masters degree at the University of Alabama. She then moved to Birmingham to complete supervised practice and further increase her experience in the areas of adolescence and eating disorders. These experiences led her to rotate through many facilities across Birmingham, including 10 months at Children's Hospital & UAB. She is honored to be a part of the Cahaba family, where she serves patients in the communities of Bessemer, Ensley and West End. She currently lives in Bessemer with her husband and their black lab, Ellie. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time at the dog park and discussing life/taking walks with friends around Birmingham's many gorgeous green spaces.
