Cahaba Medical Care eVisits provide patients with convenient, online access to medical care and treatment without having to come into the office for an appointment. The eVisit telemedicine platform allows the provider to treat a patient anytime, anywhere via secure online video chat and/or the mobile app.
When you request an online visit with one of our on-call providers, they will be sent your medical profile for review. While he or she is reviewing your medical profile and your noted condition, you will be placed in a virtual waiting room. After the provider has reviewed your information, your eVisit will begin without you having to come into the office.

eVisit is a telemedicine software platform built for healthcare providers that allows them to diagnose and treat their own patients online. The visit is conducted online via 2-way video chat from your computer, laptop, or cellphone.

Your provider actually doesn’t need to do a physical exam to diagnose and treat many conditions. That’s because knowing your medical history is considered 90% of the evaluation when combined with the provider/patient interaction. How you are feeling can be just as important to your provider as the results of a physical exam. Plus, being able to see you and view any picture uploads via eVisit gives your provider the additional visual information needed to make a diagnosis.

Yes. If the provider decides you need treatment, he or she will send your prescription electronically to your pharmacy so that it is ready for pickup when you arrive.

Our providers at Cahaba Medical Care strive to provide the best care possible. However there are conditions that cannot be treated with an eVisit. Those conditions include certain urgent and emergent illnesses / injuries, all controlled substances / narcotics, and chronic disease management to name a few. In addition, our providers reserve the right to tell you that your condition will require an “in-office visit.”
eVisits should NOT be used for emergency care. If you have a medical emergency, please dial 911 immediately.

With the eVisit app, seeing your provider remotely is easy. If you’re a new user, the first thing you’ll do is go to cahabamedicalcare.com, click “Request an eVisit,” and create your account on the eVisit portal. Once you are logged in, you will complete your patient profile, set up payment method, and set up your pharmacy information. Then, follow the instructions and request to see a provider.

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, most major insurances are temporarily expanding their coverage to include this service. Therefore, we will charge your normal copay (to the best of our knowledge) at the end of your eVisit. If you’re on our sliding fee, you will be charged your regular sliding fee amount. Otherwise, self-pay and insurances that are not currently providing this service will be charged $50, payable by debit or credit card.

The eVisit online and mobile app is an easy-to-use, secure, 2-way video platform that allows you to receive treatment from your provider anytime, anywhere for common health issues. eVisits can be conducted on your computer, laptop or cellphone. Using Google Chrome or Firefox, the app can be download using Google Play or the App Store.
