Cahaba's First Annual Employee Awards
During our Employee Christmas Party, we recognized the recipients of our first annual Cahaba Medical Care Employee Awards Program. These awards were designed to recognize those who go above and beyond to uphold and emulate our culture and values, support our vision of dismantling healthcare disparities, and foster an environment of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
LEGENDARY CARE AWARD - CHERYL HALLMAN
The Legendary Care Award recognizes employees who provide direct patient care, exceed standards, and work effectively to ensure the optimal patient experience and uncompromising Patient-Centered Service. This year, the recipient of the Legendary Care Award was Cheryl Hallman. Cheryl joined Cahaba back in 2017 and currently works at our Bessemer clinic as an X-Ray Tech / Medical Assistant.
CHRISTOPHER P. FAUCETTE GREATER GOOD AWARD - LEE DOWDLE
The Chris Faucette Greater Good Award was named in honor of the late Chris Faucette, who served for several years as Director of Facilities at Cahaba and truly embodied the values that define our organization - compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others. This award recognizes non-clinical employees who consistently achieve exemplary performance within their department, demonstrate a passion for serving others, and excel in supporting the mission and services of Cahaba. This year, the Christopher P. Faucette Greater Good Award was awarded to Lee Dowdle, who joined Cahaba's IT Department in July of 2020.
SERVANT LEADERSHIP AWARD - CARL KENNEDY
The Servant Leadership Award recognizes employees in a management or leadership position who cultivate the Cahaba Core Cultural Competencies (C4s), demonstrate a strong commitment to Cahaba’s vision, lead by example as a role model and mentor, and take Extreme Ownership of everything that impacts their mission. The recipient of the Servant Leadership Award was our CFO, Carl Kennedy, who joined Cahaba in 2018.
WORK SKILLFULLY AWARD - RENEE PENCE
The Work Skillfully Award recognizes employees who demonstrate exceptional skill and work ethic, take pride in the quality of their work, and are meticulous about accuracy and attention to detail. This award celebrates those who are awesome at what they do and can always be counted on to get the job done effectively and efficiently. This year’s winner of the Work Skillfully Award was Renee Pence, our Billing Office Supervisor who celebrated her 15th year with Cahaba this year and recently became certified as a medical coder.
SPIRIT OF CAHABA AWARD - CHRISTINAY BOGAN
The Spirit of Cahaba Award recognizes employees who come to work every day with a genuine optimistic attitude and exude kindness, friendliness, helpfulness, encouragement, and respect for others. This award celebrates those who consistently demonstrate a sense of pride in being part of the Cahaba Family and acknowledges their overall positive influence on the workplace. The winner of the Spirit of Cahaba Award was Christinay Bogan, who joined Cahaba in 2020 and currently serves as the receptionist for our urban school-based health clinics.
UNITY & COMMUNITY AWARD - TASMA WILSON
The United & Community Award recognizes employees who display a consistent spirit of teamwork and exceptional ability to foster collaboration, communication, and cooperation among colleagues internal and/or external to their department. The recipient of this year's Unity & Community Award was Tasma Wilson, who joined Cahaba in 2018 and currently serves as an MA Team Lead at our West End location.
ROOKIE OF THE YEAR AWARD - LASHAWNDA WILEY
The Rookie of the Year Award recognizes employees who exhibit significant leadership potential and demonstrate a passion for their work and for the mission and vision of Cahaba. This award celebrates those who “hit the ground running” and whose contributions have positively impacted the organization in the short time they have been part of the Cahaba Family. This year’s winner of the Rookie of the Year Award is LaShawnda Wiley, who joined Cahaba just over a year ago to serve as office manager of our new Alabaster clinic.
